Design Process

Establishing the Brief

I start by meeting with you to discuss your garden requirements.

Meeting objectives: From this meeting I will create a detailed ‘Client Design Brief’ that reflects discussions had on use of garden, practical needs, style/taste, features, planting and budget.

Next, I will create mood boards that show the look and feel of the garden design.

Survey and Design

Site survey and analysis: this is then undertaken to establish garden dimensions, level changes and key features. This data is then used to create a scaled plan of your garden.

Concept design: next a 3D concept garden design is created. This gives a very visual impression of how the finished garden will look.

Build Specification

Master plan: following approval by the client of the 3D design concept I will create a 2D master plan.

Other documentation: construction drawings are created, as required, and specification documents produced, to obtain quotes from landscapers.

Planting & Construction

Planting plan: A planting scheme is designed to suit the particular growing conditions of your garden, to complement the design.

The accompanying plant schedule will be used to obtain quotes from specialist plant nurseries.

Tendering and project monitoring: Lastly, tender documents are sent out to three reputable landscape companies to get quotes for carrying out the construction of the garden.
